Our first major rescue of multiple equines took place in 1997 when we saved twenty-seven camp horses and ponies at a bankrupt tourist attraction in upstate New York. Had we not stepped in, they would have been sold to a horse dealer and taken to a slaughter auction in Unadilla, NY.
