Meet the Residents of the Equine Advocates Sanctuary

Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, currently the home of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules—plus two pygmy goats, has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. If you would like to help the horses living at Equine Advocates Sanctuary, please visit Sponsor a Horse.

Melanie was born in the Spring of 2004 to PMU mare, Peggy, who was in foal at the time of her rescue. Melanie shares her paddock with her mom, Jasmine (also a PMU offspring), and Ella (a PMU mare). Melanie is absolutely gorgeous and loves greeting visitors, especially when they have treats. Her pasture is called "Blondes Just Want To Have Fun."

Melanie is proudly co-sponsored by supporters from Durham, Connecticut and East Chatham, New York.
