Meet the Residents of the Equine Advocates Sanctuary
Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, currently the home of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules—plus two pygmy goats, has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. If you would like to help the horses living at Equine Advocates Sanctuary, please visit Sponsor a Horse.

Sophia
Sophia, a Belgian Draft, is a Canadian PMU mare who we brought to the United States in 2004. Destined for certain slaughter, Sophia was in foal at the time of her rescue. She gave birth to a filly named, Terry, who also lives at the sanctuary. Sophia spends her days with her best friend, Annie and several other mares from the PMU industry. |
