Meet the Residents of the Equine Advocates Sanctuary

Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, currently the home of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules—plus two pygmy goats, has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. If you would like to help the horses living at Equine Advocates Sanctuary, please visit Sponsor a Horse.

Spirit, a Saddlebred gelding, was born in 2000 to a Saddlebred mare who was rescued, along with 10 other Saddlebreds in 1999 by Equine Advocates. It was one of the most written about animal abuse cases involving horses during that time. EA raised the money to go to court and purchase the horses at a bankruptcy hearing. Spirit's dam (mother), Sienna along with all of the horses were adopted out, but Spirit came back to us. Spirit spends his days with his best friends, Kip, Inno & Bandit.

Spirit is proudly sponsored, in full, by a Foundation based in Clifton, New Jersey.
