Meet the Residents of the Equine Advocates Sanctuary
Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, currently the home of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules—plus two pygmy goats, has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. If you would like to help the horses living at Equine Advocates Sanctuary, please visit Sponsor a Horse.

Bernadette
Bernadette, a Percheron/Appaloosa cross, is a former PMU mare from Canada rescued by Equine Advocates in 2003. She was in foal at the time of her rescue and gave birth to Suzie who also resides at the sanctuary. Bernadette will always be near her final offspring, unlike mares at PMU factory farms where their foals are taken away from them shortly after birth. We know that this had happened to Bernadette in the past and are thankful that we are able to keep her and Suzie together here at the sanctuary. |
