Bobby II Freedom, a former NYC carriage horse rescued from a slaughter auction in Lancaster County, PA has been immortalized by legendary pop artist,
Peter Max.
Max's portrait of Bobby reflects his trademark iconic colorful art that we love so much. It is full of blue skies and a bright future for Bobby opposed to darkness where he was heading before rescue.
Mr. Max has been helping animals for many years and wanted to lend his amazing talents to help raise awareness of the plight of urban carriage horses in New York and around the world with this mixed media and acrylic portrait of Bobby.
The painting is being auctioned off at
The Henry Street Settlement Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory in NYC which will conclude at 5:15 PM on March 6, 2011. The proceeds will be shared by Henry Street and Equine Advocates.
