SUNY Cobleskill Equine Studies’ Students Visit Equine Advocates

SUNY Cobleskill’s Equine Studies program is the oldest curriculum of its kind in New York State. Professor Ray Whelihan has brought his class to the sanctuary numerous times over the years. This popular SUNY program has been successfully training students to work in the fields of equine care management and related agribusinesses for more than 40 years.
On Friday, November 9, we welcomed a new set of students to Equine Advocates to discuss something often overlooked in equine studies–ethics. Among the topics discussed were future employment, ethics and morals in the horse industry. Equine Advocates President & Founder, Susan Wagner, and Equine Care Manager, Melissa Murray, spoke of their experiences wearing many different hats inside the horse industry.

This bright and determined group is surely on the right track and we’re excited to see the work they do for equines in the future!
