Sheena, a white Percheron, is a former New York City carriage horse. Born in the late ‘90’s, she was forced to work past the age of twenty during which time she sustained several permanent injuries. We heard about her situation and came to her rescue to prevent her from ending up at auction. Sheena arrived at the sanctuary in 2017, and although she was not turned out regularly with other horses before, she surely has adapted well to sanctuary life and being in the company of Dolly & Queen in our “Full Figured Girls” pasture.
