‘The Call of the Wild’ Day of Action: Save America’s Wild Horses!

THE CALL OF THE WILD!

A NATIONAL CALL-IN DAY OF ACTION AND PROTEST TO SAVE AMERICA’S WILD HORSES AND BURROS AND OUR PUBLIC LANDS

This is an urgent alert for every organization and individual who cares about the protection, preservation, and survival of America’s Wild Horses and Burros and our precious Public Lands. We must all act together on One Massive National Call-In Day of Protest. We ask each of you to spend just 10 minutes of your time on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to call your two U.S. Senators and your Member of Congress in the House of Representatives.

Here is where to call and what to say:

CALL your two U.S. Senators and your House Representative through the Capitol Switchboard (202) 224-3121 or their offices.

Please ask them to:

1. GUARANTEE that the FY2026 Appropriations Bills, which are being worked on right now, include a ban against the slaughter and killing of Wild Horses and Burros, as previous bills have had in the past. There are over 64,000 Wild Horses and Burros in holding facilities, and 10,000 more are scheduled to be rounded up and removed before October 1, 2025.

2. REJECT the Privatization and Sale of America’s precious Public Lands, home to 3,000 species of Wildlife, including our Wild Horses and Burros. The vast majority of Americans oppose the selling or closing of Public Lands, according to a 2025 poll.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, let us all unite under

One Big CALL OF THE WILD Umbrella

and speak to Congress together in one loud voice,

Please share this page with your friends, family, and organizations dedicated to animal and wildlife conservation. You can also download and share our Call of the Wild Alert below.

Update 07/02/2025 from EA President Susan Wagner:

All I can say is “Wow!”

I am so grateful to all the organizations that sent out and shared alerts and the countless number of horse lovers and advocates across this country who took the time to call their lawmakers on July 1st as part of THE CALL OF THE WILD National Call-In Day of Action to Protect America’s Wild Horses and Burros and Our Public Lands. It was a way for all of us to unite under one big umbrella and send strong messages to our lawmakers not to vote for legislation that would destroy our wild equine herds and their habitats on our Public Lands.

There is a lot going on in Congress now, and things are changing rapidly. We will report on any important developments pertaining to Wild Horses and Burros as we receive them.

With appreciation,

Susan Wagner
President
