Front Page Feature: Sergeant York highlighted in Veterans Day media coverage

What else is there to say? Sergeant York is a star! The famous retired Military Working Horse who came to our sanctuary in June of 2022 was the center of attention during our Veterans Day event on Friday, November 11th. A group of local veterans came out to meet Sergeant York, along with members of the media. During the ceremony, Gary Flaherty with the Columbia County Veterans Service Agency presented Sergeant York with a Special Citation on behalf of Governor Kathy Hochul for his 25 years of military service. We’re honored to provide a retirement home for this incredible equine. Check out the media coverage below, which includes front page features in the Albany Times Union and the Register Star.
