Bridgette, a Pinto Pony mare born around 2000, was rescued by Equine Advocates when an upstate New York animal park closed in 2006. The park auctioned off over 1,000 animals, of which approximately 800 went to animal dealers and hunting interests. There were 28 equines for sale and we were fortunate to be able to purchase seven of them, including this adorable little mare pony. Bridgette spends her days on “Pony Hill” with other miniature horses, ponies and donkeys. Photo by Terry Hawthorne
