Dylan

From: $50.00 / month

Dylan is a Wild Burro captured by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) during a roundup on August 22, 2024, in the Marietta Herd Management Area (HMA) in Mineral County, Nevada. This HMA consists of 66,045 acres of public and private lands. According to the organization Wild Horse Education (WHE), 296 Wild Burros were run down by helicopters and captured during that roundup over three days. The total number included 111 Jacks (Males), 121 Jennies (Females), and 65 Foals (Babies). WHE had onsite team members who were able to document it. Click here to read their observations and view video and images of this roundup. WHE also documented the BLM’s capture of 25 Wild Horses at the Marietta HMA during that same roundup. Four of those horses did not survive.

Dylan arrived at our sanctuary with three other Wild Burros on June 13th, 2025. Of the four, Dylan is the lightest in color and the easiest to recognize. His estimated birth year is 2014, and he is the oldest of the four geldings. As we do not know the exact day the burros were born, we will celebrate their Re-Birth-Days on their arrival date, the day they began their new lives. A day for celebration indeed!
