Little Richard

Little Richard is a Miniature Mule born in June of 2021. He was placed under our care in December of 2024, along with his best friend, a Miniature Horse named Sir Paul. Little Richard is cute beyond words and is the first Miniature Mule to come to the sanctuary. He was feral when he first arrived, a common situation among many of our other residents. Thankfully, whenever we have a difficult equine who has not received much handling or was mishandled or abused, we can take our time and work with that animal at his or her own pace. There is never a rush or a timeline. It’s a sad fact that equines who are hard to handle often end up falling through the cracks because people grow impatient or frustrated when trying to work with them. This is one of the main reasons we have taken in equines over the years who have had this behavioral issue. As we do not have an exact birthdate for Little Richard, we celebrate his birthday on June 17th in honor of Animal Rights Awareness Week.
