Plato, born May 16, 2000, is a Thoroughbred formerly known as Platitude, who had a very consistent record on the New York racing circuit. He sustained several serious injuries while racing and finally ended up with a cracked knee. Equine Advocates took him to the sanctuary in 2005, had him gelded, and allowed him to recuperate from his injuries in a stall for several months. Now “pasture sound,” he will never be ridden again. Plato lives his life with four other Thoroughbreds in a section of the sanctuary we call “A Few Good Men.” Photo credit: Madison Messina
